Collaboraction Theatre will be hosting The People’s Pot & Pantry at The House of Belonging on JUNE 15, 22, and 29. In an effort to build community ties, strengthen mutual visibility, and battle food insecurity in the performing arts, community members are invited to dine on their dark day. Doors open at 4:00pm with a free hearty meal including locally grown produce. All who attend are encouraged to browse the pantry for free items and bring their own containers to take home prepared food for the week.
The People’s Pot & Pantry is facilitated by Global Hive Laboratories with Cedillo’s Fresh Produce. Cedillo’s Fresh Produce is a family-run farm located in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.

Dulce Margarita Morales
Co-Founder, Lead Educator | Cedillo’s Fresh Produce
Dulce Margarita Morales is an immigrant, native to Veracruz, Mexico. She started working in restaurants as a teenager and now has more than 24 years of experience in food service, 18 of them as an operations and food safety manager. Since 2016, she has managed Cedillo’s Fresh Produce with her life and business partner, Juan Carlos Cedillo. Dulce leads CFP’s marketing and outreach. She is also co-founder of Mercado de Colores, a farmers market in Chicago’s primary Mexican neighborhood, La Villita and of Colectiva Ukulima, a collective that is solely for BIPOC farmers. Passionate about food and cooking, Dulce devotes herself to provide her family and community with fresh and healthy food options.
Denise Yvette Serna
Co-Founder, Facilitator | Global Hive Laboratories
Denise Yvette Serna (she/her) is a theatre practitioner and arts activist raised in San Juan, Texas. She has facilitated international workshops and productions with Global Hive Laboratories and its partners, as well as readings, fundraisers, panels, and festivals to raise awareness and promote activism about racial equity, accessibility, climate justice, gender based violence, immigration, land sovereignty, literacy, community collaboration, and collective joy. Chicago directing and curating credits include productions with MCA Chicago, The Latinx Theatre Commons, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Prop Thtr, Strawdog Theatre Company, Pop Magic Productions, The Neo-Futurists, Victory Gardens Theater, Writers Theatre, Goodman Theatre, El Semillero, and Steep Theatre Company.
