About the Screening

Collaboraction is partnering with Wayfarer Theaters for our premiere the film screening of "Trial in the Delta: The Murder of Emmett Till" on February 22 at 7 p.m.

The 100-minute film, derived from a 1955 trial transcript, captures the immersive theater experience, including audience reactions, professionally filmed during a live performance at The DuSable Museum of Black History in February 2023.

The screening will be followed by a moderated Crucial Conversation, allowing space for audiences to respond to the historic injustice depicted in the immersive audience experience. The film explores the impact of Mamie Till-Mobley's vow to share Emmett's story, a catalyst for the U.S. Civil Rights movement.

Tickets are $20, available at or by calling (872) 873-1030.

About the Script

Collaboraction's immersive theater production, "Trial in the Delta," brings to life the 1955 trial transcript of The State of Mississippi vs. Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam, based on the historic injustice surrounding the murder of Emmett Till.

Filmed in 4K during a live performance at The DuSable Museum of Black History, the resulting film captures riveting stage performances, audience reactions, and behind-the-scenes footage.

Experience the immersive audience experience of the trial that remains a monumental injustice in the U.S. legal system. Top Chicago actors portray key figures, including Emmett Till's mother and uncle. Co-adapted by G. Riley Mills and Willie Round, this project began in 2022 in collaboration with NBC5 Chicago anchor Marion Brooks.
