The Luminaries: Summer Final Showcase

The Luminaries Final Showcase is a theatrical concert that blends original music, poetry, and storytelling to premiere a 5–7 song project written and recorded by six young artists throughout their summer at Collaboraction. Centered around the question, "How do we remain human and build a more human world that increasingly asks us to become less human?", the performance unfolds inside a neighborhood grocery store, where six young adults juggle the ordinary demands of work with the extraordinary weight of modern life. As they navigate grief, longing, financial instability, love, heartbreak, and uncertainty alongside the pressures of political unrest, climate anxiety, racism, and social media saturation, they begin rediscovering the parts of themselves rooted in curiosity, compassion, hope, and collective care. Through music, movement, theater, and spoken word, The Luminaries invites audiences to reflect on what it means to reclaim our humanity and imagine a future shaped by empathy, connection, and the courage to create meaningful change.
